Shenzhen has recently expanded its support for the semiconductor sector. In 2025, the city introduced new policies backed by a dedicated RMB 5 billion private equity fund[1], targeting breakthroughs in high-end chips, core equipment and key materials. The policies are designed to strengthen the local supply chain through focused research and development (R&D) and funding support.
PCIM Asia Shenzhen remains committed to driving innovation while adapting to changing market needs and industry trends. By combining an exhibition with an academic conference, the event brings together an international audience from across the power electronics ecosystem. For its 2026 edition, the show floor will be expanded to 30,000 sqm to accommodate more than 300 domestic and international exhibitors, a wider range of displays and new interactive sessions on current industry developments.
The focus for 2026 will be on high-growth application areas including e-mobility, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and data centres. Industry leaders such as Mitsubishi Electric, Semikron Danfoss, Fuji Electric, Infineon, ROHM, CRRC, onsemi, and Power Integrations will be present to showcase their latest innovations. These exhibitors will present solutions across important segments of the power electronics industry, includng power semiconductors, integrated circuits, sensors and intelligent motion.
To further highlight cutting-edge applications, the event will curate several specialised display zones including the Power Electronics for E-mobility Zone and the Industrial Chain Display Zone.
Forum sessions to address key sectors of the regional industry
Complementing the conference, the event's successful programme of theme forums, free to attend and open to all attendees, will return in 2026. The agenda will cover key application markets central to the region's industry, with topics to include e-mobility, energy storage, WBG semiconductors, AI technology and motor drives. Experts from leading companies, research institutions and major application industries will cover case studies, new applications of technology and emerging market trends.
The fringe programme will also see the return of the Semiconductor Rising Stars Summit and the Emerging Applications Summit, following their successful debut at PCIM Asia Shanghai in 2025. These summits will bring together leading specialists to highlight regional innovations and analyse the most important trends shaping the future of power electronics.
2026 call for papers now open
Running concurrently with the exhibition, the PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference provides a dedicated academic forum for the global power electronics community. It offers authors an opportunity to present their latest research and seek new business opportunities with an international audience of technical experts, product developers and corporate decision-makers.
Paper submissions for the 2026 conference are now being accepted, covering key areas in power electronics and energy systems. Topics include advanced power semiconductors, packaging and reliability technologies, passive components and integration solutions, various power conversion technologies (such as AC/DC, DC/DC, and digital power converters), motor drives and motion control, high frequency power electronic converters and inverters, automotive power electronics and electrified transportation, system reliability, power quality solutions, as well as power electronics for smart grids and transmission systems.
In addition, the conference also places emphasis on applications of artificial intelligence across multiple domains, including power and energy systems, renewable energy, electric machines and drive systems, power electronics, power quality monitoring and electric vehicle power systems. Interested parties can now submit their contributions on the above topics.
All submissions will be reviewed by the PCIM Asia Shenzhen Conference Advisory Board. Accepted papers will be presented in oral or poster sessions and published in the conference proceedings, which may be indexed in leading academic databases such as Ei Compendex, IEEE Xplore, IET, and Scopus. To recognise and encourage exceptional research, the conference will continue to present the Best Paper Award, Young Engineer Award, University Scientist Award and the Excellent Poster Award, each with an accompanying prize.
